Today AMD Announced Ryzen 9000 and Ryzen AI 300 Series, Ryzen AI 300 are the leading AI-capable processors for mobile computing, these new chips feature a revamped NPU with 50 TOPS of AI performance opening the doors for a future full of AI-powered computing with new applications and assistants like Microsoft Copilot+PC.
Ryzen AI 300 a mobile AI powerhouse
Ryzen AI 300 series is based on Zen 5 architecture, featuring the improved XDNA 2 NPU (Neural Processing Unit). In the laptop segment, these chips will debut as the Ryzen AI 9 365 and the more robust Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. This marks AMD’s third-generation AI-centric CPU, distinguished by a significant leap in neural processing power.
XDNA 2 as twice as power-efficient with significantly greater neural computing capacity compared to the previous generation’s 10 or 16 TOPS. Both the HX 370 and the 365 boast NPUs operating at an impressive 50 TOPS, aligning with recent advancements in AI performance. While AMD asserts these enhancements enable the execution of more complex AI tasks, the true value will ultimately depend on the emergence of software optimized for these new neural components.
